Martinez Sheet Metal started serving customers in Contra Costa and Alameda in the 1930's. It was originally a Sheet Metal and Roofing Company, but eventually split into Martinez Sheet Metal and Martinez Roofing. Arthur Foster purchased Martinez Sheet Metal in 1962. Mr. Foster is currently a part-time consultant.

His sons, Dave Foster, President, and Glenn Foster, Vice President, have been with the company approximately 28 years. Dave is supervisor of the 18 employees and oversees the commercial business. Glenn Foster is in charge of the residential and light commercial business, as well as the purchasing.
